What is the USDT TRC20 fee now? A transfer has no fixed fee. It spends energy, and if the sending address has none, the network burns TRX instead: 6.43 TRX for a transfer to an address that already holds USDT and 13.03 TRX for one to an address that does not, at the network’s rate on 20 October 2026. This fee calculator multiplies that by your volume and sets it beside two alternatives: renting the energy at the cheapest quote in our latest scan, and staking TRX for it.
| Option | Per month |
|---|---|
| Let the network burn TRX | 192.85 TRX |
| Rent energy for 1 hour per transfer, cheapest quote | 35.10 TRX |
| Saved by renting | 157.75 TRX (5.5× less) |
| Or stake TRX to cover the same volume | about 6,690 TRX locked |
| Bandwidth, the same for every option | covered by the free daily allowance |
Rental prices: cheapest 1-hour quotes in the board’s scan of 20 October 2026, 09:35 UTC (rescanned every 15 minutes): 65k at CatFee for 1.17 TRX, 130k at CatFee for 2.34 TRX.
What the calculator assumes
- Energy per transfer. 64,285 for a recipient that holds USDT, 130,285 for one that does not. Every one of the 60 USDT transfers we read from block 87,272,043 used one of these two values.
- Burning. 100 SUN per unit of energy (the chain parameter
getEnergyFee), and 1 TRX is 1,000,000 SUN. - Renting. One separate 1-hour order per transfer, at the lowest quote in the board’s latest scan when you open this page, with no subscription or minimum-order terms: a 65k package for a recipient with USDT, a 130k package for one without. The 130k package is 285 energy short of 130,285; the network burns the rest, about 0.029 TRX, and the calculator adds it. Longer terms and larger packages are priced separately; the board’s own calculator compares every platform for them.
- Staking. The network shares 180 billion energy a day across all staked TRX: 9.60 energy per staked TRX per day on 20 October. A single transfer needs its full energy at once, so even one transfer needs about 6,690 TRX staked, and 13,570 if any recipient may have no USDT. Above one transfer a day, the amount grows with your daily volume, assumed evenly spread. That TRX stays yours but stays locked, and unstaking takes 14 days.
- Bandwidth. A transfer is about 345 bytes. Every address gets 600 bytes a day free; beyond that it costs 1,000 SUN a byte, about 0.345 TRX a transfer. The free allowance covers one transfer a day, so above 30 a month the calculator shows the extra on its own line. It is the same whichever option you choose.
Where today’s numbers come from
The network values were read through TronGrid’s public API at 09:40 UTC on 20 October 2026. In block 87,272,043, 44 of 60 successful USDT transfers used 64,285 energy and 16 used 130,285; 9 of them burned at least some TRX for energy, and the other 51 burned none: they used energy the sender already had. The board’s scan at 09:35 UTC had the cheapest 65k for one hour at 1.17 TRX (CatFee) and a median of 2.60 TRX across 19 quotes. Over the previous seven days the cheapest quote ranged from 1.04 to 2.15 TRX, with a median of 1.30. All of it is in a JSON file next to this page, with the calculator’s formulas.
Three ways to bring the number down
Rent before you send. Put the energy on the address that sends the USDT, sized for the recipient, and send while the rental lasts. If a transfer still fails, the OUT_OF_ENERGY page explains why.
Pick the hour. In 34 days of our scans (5 September to 13 October), the weekday floor was lowest from 01:00 to 10:00 UTC.
Weigh staking honestly. At 30 transfers a month the calculator puts staking at about 6,690 TRX locked, against about 35.10 TRX a month to rent at this scan’s cheapest quote. Staking suits TRX you were going to keep staked anyway; renting needs no capital at all.
Exchange withdrawals are a different fee
Withdrawing USDT TRC20 from an exchange costs whatever withdrawal fee the exchange sets. The exchange pays the network fee itself, so energy does not change your price there. The calculator is for transfers from a wallet you control.
